In various cultures throughout history, the Queen Bee has come to symbolize female power. She is a goddess and sorceress who is aware of her own innate ability to weave abundance and, at the same time, is holding the golden string of interdependence with her powerful sisters. In academic circles, early research conducted in the 1970s put forth the notion that when women rise to the top of the leadership ladder, they will not help other women and will instead work to push them down. This theory was accepted for a long time among leadership scholars and in various types of organizational settings. It creeped into our subconscious understanding of female leadership.

We now know this theory to be false.

Recent in-depth research from all over the world - much of it conducted by women themselves - has disproven this early theory and has instead shown that women do intentionally support one another through community when they reach positions of power. In fact, not only do women support other women but they create healing ecosystems of support whenever given the chance.

Queen Bee Retreats is a unique blend of leadership training based on current top research in the field and the spiritual integration of that wisdom through yoga. Our offering is based on the idea that women are here to heal each other and we are built for community. We believe that beauty is a virtue and we organize our curated leadership yoga retreats in places that inspire us. All groups are small with individualized attention and we carefully select participants to ensure optimal group synergy and abundance.

The magic is in the alchemy we create together.

Queen Bee Retreats is an experience to be treasured. It is an opportunity to spend time in the present moment; of sharing and connection, not only with oneself, but with other Women. Through these Women, I saw and discovered parts of myself that had been squashed down. Susanna presented us with a doorway and a chance to push open the door, to another way of feeling about ourselves; our strength, the leader within us all and the power to be who we were always meant to be. This is the start of my journey that I didn’t even know I needed, and now that the pathway is alight, it can never be dimmed.
